AHHH Tammy Rae Carland's work is so special. Her series on lesbians bed sheets does something so important for viewers: it normalizes this lifestyle. Through simple photos of beds in the morning, you are able to associate humanity with these bed sheets and interpret them in ways that normalize the life of a lesbian because they go to sleep at night just like everyone else. This project is amazing and also very important to me. I think her series does a lot for the LGBTQ family. I really loved a lot of her work in addition to this series, but this one in particular was an inspiration to me. The idea of documenting life without any life shown in the photograph is something that I really would love to try and her work will serve as the underlying inspiration for whatever I may create.
