Olive Edis (September 3rd, 1876 - December 28th, 1955) was a British, female photographer and successful business woman. Throughout her career, she owned several studios in London and East Anglia. Olive Edis was primarily known for her studio portrait photography. This series of work included portraits of royalty, politicians, and influential women. Olive Edis is an inspiration to my work because she was one of the first women to photograph relationships between women. Whether it is romantic or not, her photos of people together are always extremely special.
