Eileen Forrester Agar (December 1st, 1899 - November 17th, 1991) was a painter and photographer that is most commonly known for being a part of the Surrealist movement. She was first widely known for her paintings and late known for her photography. I admire her work a lot because much like her, I am a painter AND a photographer and I constantly feel the need to pick one or the other, but she is one of a few people I know of that are both a painter, a photographer, and on top of that - a woman. Her portraits of women and friends together so casually are the epitome of a great photographer. She is able to see people how they are without staging and I find that incredibly admirable.
All work courteous of Eileen Agar.
