David Hockney is a name I have heard a lot around SCAD. Many professors mention him and reference his work often, but I never really looked at it much. When I discovered he was gay and I could include him on this list, I began really digging through his work and I fell in love. Although his work is very different than my usual style and it isn't something I would normally be interested in, it really caught my eye. His collages and ability to compile so many images into one is really admirable. My work will definitely never look like his, but I love having new work to look at for inspiration, even if it is so different than my style. If I ever decide to get into the art of compiling images, I will definitely be looking at Hockney's work.
