Cass Bird is a huge inspiration to me, especially when it comes to photographing other people in the LGBTQIA community. All of her work really strikes me in different ways but her series on queer women is definitely my favorite. Her ability to capture these women in a way that highlights their personality and their life at the same time is remarkable. My favorite photo is of the woman holding the book "Women Love White Women" because it truly says everything you need to know about women, particularly women in the Queer community. It shows the expectations laid on women due to social standards in a way that isn't in your face, but evokes all kinds of emotion.
