Carrie Mae Weems (April 20th, 1953 - ) is an American artist and a jack of all trades. She works with
text, fabric, audio, digital art, installation, and of course - photography. Her most famous work is probably her photo series titled, “At the Kitchen table” where she photographed the mundane - people sitting around a kitchen table doing every - day things like eating or playing cards. This series is os beautiful to me because it is so simple, yet so incredible. I, myself, would have never thought to photograph something so casual. But, Carrie Mae Weems made casual moments some of the most intimate photographs. That, to me, is incredible admiarabe. To turn every day moments into a work of art.
