Alvin Baltrop is truly remarkable. His work is so different in regards to going between a very documentary approach versus looking very fine art. His photos on the navy seal boat are so incredible because they are so natural and you can truly see how he immersed himself in their world. His portraits of gay men during the war are probably my favorites of his. These photos capture my heart and are incredibly important in showing a side of that time that not many got to witness. His work will continue to be an inspiration to me when photographing the LGBT+ community.
