Alix Smith's work is really special to me. Her work was some of the first that I found when researching lesbian photographers. Her most famous series, and my favorite of hers, is about lesbian motherhood and lifestyles. Many of her photos show lesbian couples with their children and they really evoke so many emotions for me. They show a happy future that I can look forward to and I truly admire that so much. Aside from the mothers, her photos of power lesbian couples are also incredible. She shows women in positions of power and intelligence and I really admire her shedding light on the life of real lesbians in society today.
