I'm going to Africa!

Hello! I recently found out that I am going to St. Lucia, Kwazulu-Natal, South Africa for a photography position! If you are reading this, I wanted to share a little bit about what I will be doing and to reach out for your support. Kwazulu-Natal AKA "Zululand" is a beautiful town in South Africa that is full of beautiful people and an incredible culture. I have been offered a position as a volunteer on "special assignment" for three weeks in August in order to document the orphanage in Zululand. The children that live at the orphanage range from infants to young adults and have predominantly lost their families to HIV/AIDS.

My job while I am there will be to photograph the children in a way that brings awareness to their living conditions and document what the organization is doing for the kids. My three weeks will be spent not only photographing, but learning about what it means to bring a voice to a group of people that otherwise have been silenced.

With your help, I will be able to travel to the beautiful town of Zululand and be immersed in an incredible culture. It is my responsibility to pay for this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity and I need all the help I can get! All donations, big or small, will go directly into me paying for this trip and will then go to the orphanage. Any amount counts and I am eternally grateful for whatever you may be able to give. If you would like to ask any questions or hear anymore details about this opportunity I am happy to tell you even more! I will attach a link to the GoFundMe I have created for this opportunity as well. If you cannot donate, please feel free to share this with anyone. The more, the merrier!
