Lisette Model (November 10th, 1901 - March 30th, 1983) was an American photographer born in Austria. She was mostly known for her street photography. She bought her first enlarger and camera when she went to Italy. She didn't have much training in photography but was able to learn from her little sister, Olga. She loved the darkroom and developed a love for creating photographs and making analog prints. Model later went on to teach in New York City and later had her first book published in 1979 by Aperture that included a preface by Berenice Abbott.
